I had the opportunity to work with Amanda Armitage from Distinct Expressions Photography & Design during a newborn workshop, which featured her three week old baby, William.  Here he is just three weeks old and already has an admirer… his big sister Olivia.

If  you are new to newborn photography hopefully some of the behind the scenes shots will help you with setting up your studio.

Studio tips:

• Keep baby warm and close to mama!
• Have a “womb sounds” iPhone app playing at all times 
• Keep space heater nearby 
• Have a softbox or additional lighting available as filler light
• Nothing beats a Posy Pillow with Backdrop Stand

Keep baby covered up until you’re ready to shoot. Don’t forget the details!!

Amanda is a master at wrapping.  Practice, practice, practice!
